Commercial Complianceclass="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on August 21, 2026, notified regarding the introduction of an Automated Facility for Grant of Export Obligation Extension through PRC/EPCG Committee - Ease of Doing Business.

DGFT has introduced an automated facility for granting Export Obligation (EO) extensions in cases of Advance Authorisation (AA) and EPCG Authorisation considered by the PRC/EPCG Committee, as part of its digitalisation and Ease of Doing Business initiatives. Under the revised process, where an exporter applies for EO extension before the PRC/EPCG Committee and the Committee approves the extension, the approved extension will be processed automatically through the DGFT system, eliminating the need for a separate EO extension application before the concerned Regional Authority. The exporter will receive a fee payment request, pay the prescribed fee through the DGFT portal and submit the response, following which the EO extension file will be automatically created and approved, and the EO Extension Letter will be generated. The revised EO expiry date will also be updated in the authorisation records and transmitted to ICEGATE.
